Lets face it, this was italys 6 nations. They play great rugby, their games are never dull and their team is really charismatic. Congrats to the azzuri from Ireland 🇮🇪 👏

So proud for Italy and it's 2 huge middle fingers to everyone that kept asking them to get the boot.

I believe the reason why Italy were so composed after being 2 tries down after 20 minutes was their the first half performance against France. Italy were sure they could get back in the game because their defence won't crumble and Scotland will struggle to keep crazy high tempo on attack.
That first half against France made all the difference.
(Fischetti also said something similar in a post game interview after the sco game)

I have to say your videos about Italian growth a couple of years ago were the only hope I had about my home team, and now I'm so glad to watch this and think that you were right

This aged well. Because goddamn it did they to anything to get that first half place, and, to quote you from a video a year ago, boy was it glorious!
Absolutely delighted to see Italy be an absolute menace in that championship and their level rise every single game. My team may not have won, but this must have been one of the most entertaining rugby tournaments I've seen in my life. Not a single game was a write-off, and the tournament itself kept us on our toes down to the very last minute of the very last game. More. Please. Rugby teams all over the world. More of this.

2027: So how did Italy win the World Cup?

Brex deserves player of the tournament for this performance alone, but then he went and backed it up against Wales!

In terms of performances this 6N, I’d argue the order would be:

1. Ireland
2. Italy
3. England
4. France
5. Scotland
6. Wales

I’m prepared to be torn to shreds for this

Irish here and readily admit italy's last three games were the highlight of the tournament. Really hope something special is brewing in that camp

Amazing as always guys!! Also thanks for being so nice when we met in France after the Arg Eng game!!!
A request... Cian Healey... A tribute
He like many others is an unsung hero. As an England fan I have nothing but admiration for him... So... Why is Cian Healy a legend of Rugby...

The most important aspect of this 6n is it brings Italy into the seeded teams for the World Cup. If they can maintain this momentum maybe they'll get into a group without NZ 😅

If only there was a 'love' button. You nailed it once again Squidge. Can't wait to see Italy finally make it to the quarter finals in the next world cup.

After years of hammerings, along with slight showings of promise (2007, 2013) a losing streak of near fifty games, and once resorting to playing a flanker at scrum half, Italian rugby looks to finally be coming of age. I wont lie when I was younger I did enjoy the near annual thumping of Italy but as I've grown older (and been on the side of batterings in my local team myself) I couldn't be happier for them. The day Italy win a six nations which could be in the next decade or so, I will be celebrating with them.

The average age of the Italian team is scary, they now have great depth in the front row, multiple half backs who are genuinely test quality, game breakers like Ioane, Menocello and Capuzzo….yet so many of team aren’t even 23 yet! This World Cup cycle I am genuinely excited to see what they manage to achieve

Good work on the tactical detail. Was at the Game and Italy fed off the intensity of the crowd especially when Horne's try was disallowed. There is much talk in sport of how momentum can be difficult to get back when it shifts against you - this was an absolute lesson in this aspect and is a factor that can't be underestimated in this game. Well played Italy. When assessing the Italian nearly win against France, if you are being objective, they played 40 minutes against 14 men and couldn't get the job done. Italy are going in the right direction undeniably and should be ambitious for performances in 2025 given the talent they have but may still struggle in arm wrestles against the big boys (as evidenced by Ireland result).

This is one of the most times both Scotland has featured in squidge 6 nations coverage and boy did it have to be this year.
(Well done Italy)
