Also an extremely endsngered and vitally important species.. atlantic eel population is around 1% of its former glory. thisbspecies sustains various sea bird populations like puffins and terns and alot of pelagic fish like mackeral feed on glass eel.

Most animals are ten to 1 in feed conversion?! That isn’t even close. Chickens are less then 2 pounds to 1 pound and hogs are under 3 pounds to one. And cattle might be higher but their feedstuffs are completely different then the high concentrate eels pigs and chickens get. Also all cold blooded animals have incredible feed conversion because they are not burning nearly as much energy for their metabolism. Eels are a super interesting animal but not a super producer like the 1 to 1 feed ratio that the video says they are.

Now all you have to do is breed them to not taste like eel.

How come you can make 1 Pound of eel from one pound of food i mean they are moving all the time?

In my opinion, they should just catch a few eels, make an artificial habitat for them, let them make babies, let those babies make more babies, and then they have a bunch of eels without harming the natural ecosystem. Still cool to watch, though!

Yeah, they take less food to grow, but you have to harvest them from the wild. Honestly its easier to just catch a full grow fish. Save the feed for the pigs!
