The building in the right side at 0:54 also have a massive outhang to build on, with perfect view over the snowglobe. I am starting out there in my first attempt of extinction. Worth to give a look.

underneath the oval on the side with the note (sort of on the way to the obelisk) is another good spot. You got water, 3 metal nodes by the edge, a little hidden crystal spot in the roots and even more crystal around the place. 2 hidden rich metal nodes in another root area, and it's very decently flat

Back here from ASA Fun Fact the ice biom now has a new structure that looks like a little mansion and it has a terminal (which I cant access sadly)

Love building on the oval spot personally for pve. Looks pretty and is fairly safe. And if you ain’t playing on Teach’s cluster then you ain’t living your best life!

At the "Christmas tree" on the two like very long paths that connect you to the tallest building, I have my base inside the bottom of the building or flat with the long dual pathways. It's very convenient for 100s of imprinted rexes and gigas, mostly rexes, but yea. Lol.

Easiest way to unlock the tele-porter? Most great spots require a teleporter

3rd location is death, Gigas spawn outside and apparently even dilos can damage metal and tek

It's tough to get a prime base location on the official servers. People place pillars everywhere. I was able to get a great location on Gen 2 and have been building a PvE base that I'm very proud of. My base is on a little lake at about 50 x 30. I wish that Gen 2 ran better on Xbox. Even on a next gen console I experience lag and snap back.
