I think the challenge of this song comes down to portraying the actual lyrics behind each note, I hear this song a lot more in ballads where instruments and vocalists can really exercise their tone and sound to put emotion to what the song is actually about. But yknow if ur just here for the good vibes and not really tryna tell that kind of story, you don’t have to, the way you played is as right as any other ✨✨

Seems easy enough. I never heard of that song but seems easy to play. Now, the opening to West End Blues is extremely complex. I have tried it several times and can't do it.

Why is it so difficult to get the notes high ? The 1st note on my trumpet is much lower, I have to really push to get it higher, giving me a headache and sore lips 😞

Here’s the thing! If your embrouchure or technique is flawed. If you do not have the proper anatomy. Then, it is ALL hard. It doesn’t matter what the tune is, you will struggle for years and years despite constant practice to no avail. I advise anyone who is thinking of playing trumpet to play learn another instrument in tandem. The instrument should be one where your body is not the resonator. Do not be fooled by the fix it teachers! They all were pros before they found their great techniques. They are not trying to con you. They just don’t realise what I am saying, because their body works for them even on a bad technique.
