Kate Martin's family reacts to Las Vegas Aces selecting her in 2024 WNBA Draft

The so-called “glue” of the Hawkeyes was drafted by the Las Vegas Aces with the 18th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Kate’s mom is the midwestern mom we all need…. In a different interview she said she was so proud to be Kate’s mom. I cried. That was so sweet.

I think the fact is she went there to support her teammate Caitlyn Clark and ultimately to her surprise ended up getting drafted is the icing on the cake. She probably wasn't expecting it cause the slots is so low compared to the male NBA drafts.

Kate Martin has skills. She was overshadowed by CC. She rebounds well, plays good defense, and has a good medium-range shot. She can play guard or small forward. If she makes the team, she will be a WNBA champion if the Aces repeat. ❤❤❤❤

I really enjoyed Kate Martin's style of play and her winning personality: so talented, likable, good character. As a fellow Illinois native I was hoping she would be drafted by the Fever so she and CC, aka, "Frick and Frack" to me, could do their "thing" on the court. Well, we have to wait until May 25th when their teams meet in pre-season...should be interesting.

That’s awesome that she was drafted so high. I’m not sure when that hockey game took place but it looks like as soon as she was drafted they changed the channel to something else.
