Becky Hammon and A'ja Wilson praise Kate Martin's WNBA Debut

The former Iowa guard Kate Martin played in her first WNBA game today against the Sparks. Her first professional bucket was a wide open three in the corner. Martin also showed off her defensive skills blocking the Sparks 6’7” Li Yueru.

Becky said the same right after the draft when people were questioning her on picking someone that had declared but wasn’t expected to get be drafted. She told everyone that Kate Martins basketball IQ was off the charts. It was a no brain for her to draft Martin because that knowledge of the game and ability to execute was worth more to the Aces continuing to be a championship team than drafting a ‘name’. Becky is all about real talent and dedication to the game and not just so called ‘star’ players.
