My Great-Great Grandad fought and died fighting against the Prussian Guard at Mametz Wood, World War 1. The Prussians up until that point were tireless and reputable soldiers and commanded respect.

The "iron cross." What a unique national symbol. No countries insignia compares. From its visual to its name, it exudes strength. And, timeless coolness. In the 60's & 70's it was as popular as the peace symbole. In the 60's it was often called a "Surfer Cross". It even sounds like it could have come out of some comic book. 'The land of the Iron Cross'.
The "Hammer of Thor" has a strong sound as a national symbol. But, not the simple visual. The Iron Cross on the sides of a football Helmet.

I do not know a lot about Prussian Military Tradition but what I do know from the history books I have read Germany can be very proud of it's Prussian Heritage & I believe now is the time for Germany bring back it's Prussian Heritage into our time!
