The Alternatives to Discord are Just as Bad (MOSTLY)

I learned that mumble also has a mumble web-client extension. This reduces the friction of getting friends to switch over.

A server tried to migrate from Discord to Guilded and the community died lol. Telegram is great but not a Discord replacement because it doesn't have servers or channels. Everything is just a big group chat there. Matrix, when using the Element app, is not very intuitive or user friendly and can be slow depending on the home server.

Matrix is definitely the best discord alternative, it has grown a lot and gets better every day, it's decentralized, has impressive level of security that no one can compete and its open source.
It also has the the best parts of it and xmpp and everything.

So I looked it up about matrix, they were cut funding from amdocs in 2017 and the team made a uk based company after I wouldn’t go as far as to say that they’re working with mossad like amdocs does I also didn’t know about this either. Also amdocs is headquartered only a little over an hour away from me. Fuck

You don't happen to know how long stream group chat messages are save do you? I know Steam chat messages are purged at some point but if they do that for group chats too there's no point in using it.
