It's very interresting.
I'm a professional colorist. You could adapt this discussion 1:1 to the world of moving images. I have exactly the same conversations with my clients. Colors on Reference Monitor, iPhone, Tablet. Dynamic Range, Saturation....

These guys are obviously friends geeking out and politely busting each others' chops. Really fun.

This is great, Steve. It is so amazing to watch people that are experts in their field, there's a certain humbleness combined with ease that is so refreshing... Thank you.

Bob Katz ... always a breath of fresh air.
Whether in person, in print, or video such as this, he's one audio industry individual that I strive to consume all he's willing to share!

Thank you Steve

Awesome interview Steve, IMHO best lines, "The average of all loudspeakers in the world is flat" & "It's a constant process of education and trust". The journey of learning continues...

A musician is lucky to have Bob Katz help develop their recording. Thanks Bob and Steve.

Extremely well done! I really enjoy that Bob Katz is so forthright and really seems to value clarity. Thank you for an opportunity to see and here this man in the flesh.

Thanks Steve, I bought his book as a result of watching this, just to (hopefully) better understand how music gets from the artists to me, fascinating stuff.

I've learned so much listening to Bob's presentation on the loudness wars. This was a great interview. Thanks.

Love that he admitted to not having/ wanting his name on some recordings.

I listen to mostly records on my setup in my bedroom. But he is correct about car systems. I bought an Alpine cd player/bluetooth with alpine speakers, and the sound is incredible, and also very cheap. I remember in the late 80s buying one of the 1st denon car cd players for $500, and it sounded ok!

Another home run Steve! Love your insider interviews. I actually had to go back and relisten to get it all.

Bang and Olufsen car systems sound pretty good.

Yea Bob Katz!! I always thought that mixing to the "least common denominator" (Auratones, Yamaha NS-10s, etc), was bullshit. I want to hear the best possible recording on my system. Go Bob Katz!!
