I think Mr Miyagi was like Chozen or Johnny back in the day, he wanted to beat Kim and he did. Meanwile Kim might've been a pretty cool dude, untill Miyagi defeated him mockingly.
Kim created Cobra Kai as a result of that beating, and it makes Miyagi realize that he needs to become a better man. It would also mean Mr Miyagi's past actions are the reason for Cobra Kai even existing.

My theory is that the guy Miyagi beat up was a guard at the interment camp his wife was at in ww2 and the necklace was her’s and when she died there the guard ripped off her and stole it and Miyagi later tried to get it back and that’s why he beat him up

Mr Miyagi fought for his country and received its highest honor, but in the end still lost his wife and unborn child because of prejudice. Honestly it doesn't surprise me at all that Mr Miyagi may have gone through a Johnny Lawrence phrase of drinking and picking fights before someone or something set him straight again.

My money is on Jackie Chan's Mr Han.

I get that Daniel mentioning Mr. Miyagi’s name can be annoying. But the man just misses him dearly. Its not easy to let go have someone you used to be so close to even if they are long gone.




Although Johnny knows Kreese is bad news and should never have him interfere with his life again. Deep down, he still thinks of him as a father more so than Sid ever was.

Love cobra kai but it's so obvious that they have nothing for Daniel to do so they invent a box for season 6.

I feel there's more to the story, though I'm hoping Mr. Miyagi did had a darker, sketchy past and decided to become a better man that he was today.

Mr. Miyagi said he never fought in the tournament, but he was the captain of his team in the Sekai Taikai. So he lied about fighting in tournaments. The greatest tournament in the world. No less. The blood on the headband makes me wonder if it was one of his opponents.

It shows that no one is perfect, mistakes are made but the lessons learned from those mistakes is what makes one strong to move forward and not let past mistakes haunt us. It's what we call being wise.

The confusion of 1918 vs 1924. Based on this clip, Daniel looks at the photo of him and Mr. Miyagi (photo from KARATE KID 3). In Karate Kid 3, we find out that Miyagi was part of the 442nd combat regiment of World War II. Doing the math, if Mr. Miyagi was born in 1924, he would be around 15 years old at the time WWII begins 9/1/1939. However, if he was "born in 1918", that puts him at the age of 21 years old. So my theory was, if it's not obvious, Mr. Miyagi lied about his age and his name (using Keisuke Vs. Nariyoshi) to join in the army. Now how it all connects with what's to come, I don't know, but I am sure going to want to watch.
