You Tube is loaded with "how to do" for a softstart, but this one is undoubtetly the best. Some explain and show to few, some go overboard on the electrical on the electrical details... this is just perfect. Well shown, well explained, not to short, not to long, well... what can I say: Well Done Tips after all! 😄

I am not sure why I was stressing about doing this upgrade, but it was super easy. It works very very well. I appreciate your posting this solution. Very well-done tip.

I couldn't start my saw without blowing a fuse.
This solved it for me.
In my case the blue and brown cable colours on the switch were not the same as yours, but I decided to ignore the coloring as long as the schematic on my switch was the same as yours.
So after following your video I can start my saw without tripping my MCB! 🎉

So, thanks. Awesome video.

I bought a Dewalt DWE7491RS, the switch is the same, I checked the part number to be sure and they are identical but the wiring and colors are not.Since the switch and motor are the same, just connect the soft mudule as explaned. For my part I used Hitachi 371468 Soft Start C10Rj without any issues.I'm glad!

I have been using my DWE7491rs for over 2 yrs all the while bitching about the hard starts. Had no idea I could add a soft start module. Amazing! I did add a 1' x 3" x 36" aluminum box extrusion to the fence which drastically helps the lead in and out of the cut on this saw. Awesome tip, great video that should be included in the manuals...lol!

I ordered the same device that you used here and the Chinese supplier on Amazon supplied a different one. Higher current rating but with colour coding of red and blue wires reversed. The connection diagram on the body of the unit was different - and frankly totally useless. In the absence of knowing the circuit config of what is in the magic box, I stuck with your config bed on A, B and C and not wire colours - and the result is perfect. Lovely soft start. I liked the idea of the Y splitter to implement the circuit on my 7485 - neater than using the piggy back connectors you used in your other video I think. Thanks for the really useful guidance here.

Dear internet stranger. I don't know why I trusted some random guy on YouTube with my very expensive machine. But I thought, hey it's 3 wires. How hard can it be? My hands were a little sweaty when I pushed the start button. But oh boy, this worked like a dream. Life is about taking risks. Thanks.

Well I didn't even know you could do this. So bought one off eBay, fitted it at the weekend and it works! Nice one.

Not having a $5 module installed by default is a shame for DeWalt.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I installed a soft start on my Skil table saw 1340AA using these instructions. Works like a dream now. Thank you again!

Just did this on my DWE7491-XE. It’s a 240v one, the switch is a little different than in this video… but can see where the wires are going so just listened and connected to the relevant motor wires same as in video. Seems to work great at start up. Only hesitation is that the modules wires are lighter than all the other wires so not sure how it will go when under load- but it’s rated for 16A and the saw is only 9.4A. Bought it used, and it gave me one hell of a fright first time I switched it on with hard start so this is perfect

These are must for a off grid work shop, the hard starts are very hard on inverters, I've blown 1 inverter thanks to table saws, but with the soft starts there are no more blown inverters

Well that does it that gets rid my last issue with my Bosch jobsite. As I understand it this will work with any 15A tool. Looks like I'll be sticking with it for a while longer. Thanks.
