Great video! We have a Coleman Mach 4, 13500 btu, and installed a soft start on it, and use it with our Champion DualFuel 2000, and it works fine. Easy to install, easy on the start, and even works when connected on our external house ourlet (not a 30amp).

I installed them on our 2-A/C units on our 5th wheel. Easy to do, they come with good instructions as well as many install videos available.

Just installed 2 of these on our 2021 JAYCO north point and they work flawlessly and it was super easy to install, so easy that I was able to do via text… no cell service out here in the country! Danny was a huge help!!!

Definitely an easier to manage beard. Plus I love the Easy Start being that I have a large Lithium battery system with Solar.

Great info! Where can I buy one and are they hard to install? Do I have to unseal the a/c unit to install?

hi there, this is interesting I would to ask if can a thermostat be installed on a RV AC unit that does not have one and add soft start?

I have nearly the exact electrical setup as you discribed. even down to the 1600watts of panels! Anyways, thanks for explaining lots, I realize this will solve my power surge issues.

Nice segment - please keep these going. While on topic - can you say what manufacturers of the newer A/C's have additions where soft start may not be needed? We installed a Furrion A/C. So far so good, but I get pushback from them when asking about soft starts. However, to their credit, their controllers are wired to prevent short cycling which of course is a good thing. I have soft starts on my home A/C's but I haven't had the Furrion even for a year so yes, it's still under warranty. Somewhere this year, I plan to be in your class!!

I am really wanting to add this soft start to my AC unit... along with a solar system and battery bank.

This is what I have on my 2007 20’ Jayco. I was wondering about my power usage so I purchased an AC voltmeter ( AC 100A Meter Voltage Amperage Power Energy Multimeter with Split Core Current Transformer CT AC 100A Meter) very easy to install. Gives you real time data as to what power is being drawn. When my AC powers on I have a max amp draw of about 19-22 amps for about 2 seconds then a constant amp draw of about 12 amps.

I have bought 2 softstarts (one for each ac.. 13500 and 15000.) How can I measure the inrush amps? I am trying to figure out if I can run both AC's on 30amp. If it's not easy to measure, then what's the worse thing that can happen if I try to run both and it doesn't work?

I have two Coleman Mach AC units on my 5th Wheel. When parked at home, I'm plugged in to a 20A receptacle with an extension cord that is 50' long. I'm guessing at the rig, I have to have less than 20A coming in but I can start and run either AC unit without a problem. Would this indicate my AC units came with a soft start on them?

Help! I installed the Soft Start RV on my 2021Grand Design Furrion Chill 41.5 BTU a/c unit. Did not work. Blower would turn on. The minute the compressor would flip on, the entire unit would shut down. Fuse popped. Called SoftStart Rv. They walked me through the process. Everything seemed correct. I called a professional. Paid for him to uninstall and then reinstall. Same issue. SoftStart RV said that their unit may be faulty. They sent me another one. I paid a different professional to come and install that one. Same issue. I sent it back to SoftStart RV and got my money back. I then turned around and used that money to purchase their plug and play version. No installation required. Same exact thing happened. I was told that my unit requires 3200 watts to start. No I was not using a generator this entire time. I was plugged into a 30 amp circuit. Nothing else was on. Not even the lights or water heater or water pump. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I wanted one of these last year when we purchased our travel trailer but the techs at the used dealership were not familiar with them. After I have completed the NRVTA Home course will I have the training to DIY it?

I put the softstart on my 16k BTU Dometic, AC my brand new Honda EU2200 shuts down. Starts fine, runs fine for about 15-20 min the amperage draw keeps ticking up. 12.75, 14, 14.75 doesn't seem to exceed 15 amps, never overloads. voltage drops and AC shuts off. have done load tests on gen, no problem. any suggestions? What is the normal operation amperage of an AC unit? cant seem to find out. Honda says Gen 15 amps continuous, 18 for 20 min. Easystart says im only the second person to have this issue, both recently.
