Friendly reminder, you can use the console command “map 99 -force” to access this map, as of 2.2.10.
If you’re wondering what it looks like, it’s a small cylindrical room where the bottom half is water (you can drown in it yes) and several flat textures of mountains on the top of the water. There are invisible walls at the edges of the map. The cloud ceiling cannot be passed through.

I’ve known this game since 2008 and it took me until 2022 to find out this theme isn’t original but actually the song “theme of SONIC & KNUCKLES” from an obscure 90s Sonic album called Virtual Sonic

i remember redownloading srb2 for the first time in years and being completely blown away by right from the new title screen

The title screen song ( and the original theme) are remixes of the Sonic and Knuckles theme, Virtual Sonic ( 2.1 credits theme is actually just the second half of Virtual Sonic)

Really wish that Sonic Team JR releases the 2.1 OST. That soundtrack is underrated.

Okay okay okay, I really wanted to dump this somewhere. Anyone elese notice that in the background you can see Arid Canyon zone and Red Volcano Zone? And you can also see some towers from Techno Hill zone from behind some hills. Assuming that the gap between the islands in the background is where Deep Sea zone is, and the large green mountain is concealing Castle Eggman zone, you can see every zone except for Egg Rock in the title screen.
