To me there is a HUGE increase in flowery smell in the new formula, and even after I've rinsed the dishes thoroughly they still have a faint flowery smell. I hadn't heard anything about the formula changing, but my nose knew immediately!

I don't remember my bottle saying "new clean scent", but as soon as it came out of the bottle I noticed the new scent, & I haven't bought it since! Why a company would change their "original", 1rst ever, popular, dish soap is beyond me! I don't want to use Platinum or Apple or any of the others! I want the ORIGINAL Dawn scent back! They lost a customer, cause it's all I ever bought!

3:19 I totally agree, I cough too. It makes my throat clench. I HATE IT! I’m going to get rid of it out of our house. It’s so caustic-smelling and probably toxic. I don’t want it near me. Unfortunately my SO sees no problem with it. Typical. 🙄

I haven’t had a problem with it cleaning anything but it’s just a scent. I’m returning it. I just bought opened up my first bottle and it’s going back.

I just bought two big bottles of the original at the H‑E‑B in Mexico, specifically Matamoros. It’s the original scent and thickness. I plan on getting more when I go again.

It also has the full circle on the label surrounding the brand name unlike the new ones, which have the half circle only. The label says it’s specifically formulated for Latin America but it’s definitely the original blue Dawn and if anyone here goes to Mexico I definitely recommend they look for it. I’m so glad I found it and hope they don’t change it there too.

The stench is so bad I had to get my money back from Dawn. I didn't want to punish my store so I chatted with Dawn and they sent me a gift card. It doesn't wash my dishes... as great. I think you said it perfectly. It leaves a stink in my kitchen, it leaves a stench on my hands from 7am until noon. I don't know what I'm going to use now but I'll pre-smell my future products. My nose isn't great either, but it 'hits me with a huge perfume scent'. It also sticks to my wood utensils, and if it spills in a seasoned pan it takes a couple cooking cycles to get the stink out.

Immediately knew something was wrong and thought i bought the wrong product. The new scent is extremely pungent and gives me a migraine. Im so sensitive to it that i ended up having dump it all out as it is the first soap ive ever used that is unusable for me. I couldn't walk in my kitchen without getting a headache the smell was so strong.

I returned the big jug of blue dawn I bought today and got the ShopRite brand soap and the ShopRite brand is awesome.

I HATE the new scent. I don't have a dish washer so I have to wash 100% of my dishes by hand. It cleans the dishes just as good as ever, but they put this scent in it that really should only be used in body wash. It sticks on dishes and especially plastic and wood, and it's very hard to rinse out. Other brands might smell better, but they don't clean as good. I don't understand why they had to change a product that was perfectly fine the way it was.

Why would any dish soap company assume that people want to eat off plates and drink out of glasses that smell like cheap perfume?

To me, Dawn 'New Clean Scent' smells like cheap, dollar store dish soap. One squirt and the smell is so overpowering that I can smell it all over the kitchen -- honest! I now have to rinse my dishes several times in hot water just to get the soapy smell off them.

Handling meats and Styrofoam meat trays and such, I wash my hands in the kitchen sink several times while preparing a meal. With Dawn "New Clean Scent" I have to rinse my hands again and again in hot water just to get the smell off them. If I can't get the original non-smelling Dawn I will never buy Dawn dish soap again!

The new smell starts to gag me after a while.
Not pleasant to me at all. I dont think it cleans as well either. Not happy. I agree…if it aint broke, dont fix it!

My wife noticed the awful smell first. We hate it. It lingers for a very time on our dishes and hands. We are returning our two bottles to Costco and won’t be buying Dawn again until they return to the original more subtle scent.

I called and complain and the customer service rep that answered. The phone said they test the new sent and it was OK with the public. I asked if they got a cheaper recipe from China that’s why they ruined it.

Both my old lady and I have eczema and this new formula exacerbates our symptoms specifically, the dermatitis on our hands. Not to mention a noticeably less effective grease cutter. In short: It no longer "Takes grease out of your way", as their motto says.
