Tips For Melting Snow For Water

This is how Mrs Freshayr (Fresh Air) and I melt snow for water needs around the camp. There are several different methods. This video presents why I like THIS way versus the "snowball" method. Also displayed is the easiest and fastest way of getting a full pot of water using this method.

Thanks Lonnie! I do it much the same way, but I usually keep a bit of cotton cloth in my pack that I use as a filter as I pour water into my cup/canteen, since like ya said about the stray pieces of debris, there will usually be a few that ya don't get. If I am cooking up coffee in the pot, no filtering, since I think it adds "character" to that cup of hot "joe". LOL ;-)
