Kenya Police Station Attack: At least seven policemen killed by fellow officer

In at least seven policemen are dead. They were gunned down by another officer at a police station in western Kenya. The standoff took place in Kapenguria. The policeman apparently held prisoners hostage. Special commandos from Nairobi were sent in. The siege lasted nine hours. It's not clear what the motive is. Police initially reported it was an attempted jail break by Somali militant group al-Shabaab. It's now emerged that is not the case. A suspected recruiter for al-Shabaab happened to be in the cells when the policeman opened fire on his fellow officers.
