We had these on clearance at my store for $39, so I picked one up to try. I'm honestly a fan. I have quite a few Leathermans that I rotate through depending on my plans for the day, and I wouldn't put this up there with the Surge, Wave, P4, or Supertool, but it's half the size and feels much lighter in the pocket. The knife blade leaves a lot to be desired, but otherwise I find the tools pretty useful. It's nice to be able to flip it open one handed, the 3d Phillips is great for light tasks, and the pliers have a lot of leverage and come to a nice point. The bit driver isn't my favorite, but if I plan on needing different bits I opt for a different tool for the day. This works great for warm days when I'm wearing gym shorts and don't want to weigh them down, or for around the house when I want to have something convenient in my pocket but I'm not far from my toolbox.

Sog burned me on more than 1 occasion never again.

The smaller plier opening is the trade off for the gripping power. Simple physics. You just can't get twice the power out of nothing.

As a life long construction worker I've bought dang near every multi tool on the market over the last 15 years looking for one that is atleast decent in all areas. As far as im concerned the SOG power pint multi tool (smaller version of this tool i believe)is the winner as of what i edc right now. I don't know if he is just being overtly nitpicky or just hadn't really used many multi tools in the field but I'm in love with this little power pint. It's small and light weight for what it is(18 tools). Yes the metal could be better but i have no issues so far. The Absolute best aspect is the center mounted bit driver. Most multi tools are off center well if your having to screw in a right screw or mess with any flat head screws its a pain and awkward when it's off center. Another ferrite that beats the competitors is the geared opening. It's so smooth yet had enough tension not to flop around doing it one handed. Coming from someone who literally uses a multi tool for hard use on a regular basis(cause im lazy and hate going back all the way to the truck some times) the SOG power pint blows the competition out of the water every time!

Thanks for the review. On the surface it looked nice but looking a little deeper, this seems like cheap Chinese junk

Thanks, Aaron. I'm not surprised, honestly. SOG has been repurposing that bit-holder concept for years, which is interesting, because it has NEVER worked. EVER.

Thanks for the review. One thing I can always count on here is your honest and direct evaluations of equipment.

I still have, and use quite often, is the original issue of the Leatherman tool. It has served me well for years. My thoughts are; If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Darn. I was hoping that this would be something good. I’ve been pretty bored with the multitool offerings lately

Yeah if they put such disregard in the knife, that about says it all. This should be priced like any other chinesium knockoff tool for what you get.

I had a SOG PowerLock and thought it was the ultimate multitool. Then I got the Leatherman Wave+. The Wave+ is the best multitool I have ever used and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I use it literally every day. This offering looks like a good option, but it’s not going to unseat my treasured Wave+ from my pocket (separately purchased pocket clip for the Wave+ is an absolute must).

I really appreciate your honest assessments in all of your videos! As such, I have yet to find a multitool that can compete with an equivalent Leatherman, even if some are less expensive options. Call me a brand loyal fan boy, but I seriously doubt that I'll ever purchase another brand.

In some ways I like it..but the ability to get to the tools (which is rough), the terrible ergos, lack of the powerpints gear ratio...and softness of the steel, wasn't worth it when I tried it. And the file i got with mine had ZERO texture..I love love the way it uses standard hex bits though.

I own the MP600 and I love it. It's a pretty decent multi in my opinion. I've used it for a ton of things and the only issue I've ever had was the little c clip on the handle came off, I put it back on and never happened again.

👍 Good fair review. I was disappointed that one of the comparison tools was not the Victorinox SpiritX — the best multitool on Planet Earth! 🙂

I know you are not impress with this tool, but, man you did a great review of it's lac of abilities and performance. Thanks for letting us see up close. Question, What Multitool would you recommend for an everyday carry. Lets say that Price is not an issue.

Interesting? Yes. Ultimate? Never. Just two words: Victorinox SwissTool.
