Reminds me of actress/professional Hollywood mermaid Esther Williams. She was the star of all the swimming movies in the 40s and 50s. In order to keep her hair out of her face and cut more smoothly through the water when she swam in these films, makeup and hair stylists used to grease her skin and hair down with Nivea cream and jab lots of pins into her hair to hold it in place. She used to get annoyed on the mornings she would have to be up early, get fully greased and pinned, and then shooting would get canceled for the day.
