Several fortunate things seemed to be at work as far as him surviving the OD. Pervitin was known to cause intensely high body temperatures, and its possible the cold weather kept his body temp down to a survivable level. Also the fact he was drinking a ton of tea meant his body stayed hydrated and also contributed to keeping his temp down, as well as helping to flush some of the Pervitin out of his body. The Pine ingredients also greatly contributed to lowering his blood pressure, lowering inflammation, and a variety of other things. Still though, the fact that the Pervitin burned off all the fat and calories his body had, and yet he still survived that AND the mine damage is really astonishing.

Little known fact. The Pervatin this guy took was stuck together which is why he took it all at once. He sort of had no choice in the heat of combat. Breaking one off to take would've taken too long.
