If the Bible would have been translated properly a lot of Americans would have Hebrew names.

I believe that David Stern left the book of James as is for whatever reasons. Probably so not to confuse Christians if he titled the book of James as “Jacob”. Just a thought though. Blessings 🙏🏻

I have seen the Oxford Jewish Bible as we have a copy in our chaplaincy here at Essex Uni. That is OT only though. I will definitely have to check this one out though Moi. It is reasonably priced and its approach seems fascinating.

The name James come from the King; which was the responsible for the translation (KJV)

if no one has replied to the James/Jacob naming of the Bible book issue overtime, apparently this happened due to giving some kind of honour to King James during the time of translation to the King James Version
