Next year I am gonna try purchasing my first ever food plant. I don't know whether I want a strawberry plant, some sort of herb, or a tomato but these videos are keeping my excitement up during the sleepy winter months. :3

😂😂 I added fertilizer, mulched with hay after Canadian Thanksgiving and heavily watered and just left it.
Came back larger than last year.
Same with my sage, thyme and lemon balm.

FIRST of all THANK YOU for your videos, I have learned a tremendous amount of information. I have a question though. A friend gifted me three tiny strawberry plants and she said she wasn't sure they would grow, well.... grow they did, but all of her's died. I would love to gift her with twice as many as she gave me to begin with. When do I cut them to transplant and where do I cut them??? I cannot believe that from the most tiny leaves she gave me that I'm able to re gift her plants back to her!! Please help!!!! This is my first time growing strawberries and I need to make it right for her.🙏🙏 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Loving your channel and thanks for all the great content. I live in AZ zone 9a. I just planted young strawberry plants a week ago (mid Nov). They are maybe 3-6 inches tall. I wanted to clarify something I'm now confused about. Everything I've read and every video I've watched on the topic advises to cut off the flower buds on young plants for several months, so the mother plant can grow stronger and produce bigger better fruit later. In this video, you say to leave the buds on. Is that strictly for more developed older plants? Also, since I live in AZ, should I still cover them with straw (if/when they go dormant)? If it even gets cold enough for that. I'm not sure. Finally, probably a dumb question, but do you still water the dormant plants? I started gardening a month ago. Just trying to learn everything! I have about 12 strawberry plants in 2 raised garden beds, as well as a couple hanging ones I also picked up this month (more developed with lots of buds). Tia!

We have strange weather where I live. We've already had some hard frosts and even snow. Now, though, it is in the 40s or 50s for the daytime temperatures. We will most likely get more frosts and snow at some point.

Love your videos!! I’m in Oakland, CA, Zone 10a. Have been growing strawberries in small planter boxes in my backyard for a few years. The yard gets good sun in summer, no direct sun in winter (it’s in the shadow of the house). This winter, (2022 into 2023) for the first time, my strawberries have never stopped flowering or fruiting!! (Fruit is not ripening) Both the original plants and some that formed from runners this summer. Should I trim the plants back and cut off the flowers and fruit during winter? Also we’re getting a ton of rain so they are saturated. Should I try to figure out a way to keep them from getting so much water? I believe they are mostly ever bearing varieties. One is something else, pink blossoms and small sweet fruit. Thank you!

Loving your videos. I’ve just moved to Southern Ireland, wet and windy. Have landed a job in community poly tunnel and had a great crop of hanging basket strawberries but now they are over. Can I divide and establish new plants now before winter ? I’ve done a few runners and they look good.
