So in theory sam never dies he just leaps forever and ever. Love how the final can bring back to the first episode. Just like the loop

It's funny, he explains his theory to his TV hero during a leap, who explains the theory to his younger self watching the show.

The theory comes from nowhere! A very subtle bootstrap paradox.

The first time I saw the pilot episode, I pictured Al giving the "Dick and Jane" explanation of Sam's String Theory to a President who bore a striking resemblance to Harrison Ford! ;)

Did you ever notice that sams 1st leap and last leap habe the same actor in them. His military flight and the bartender in the last leap who is "god" I guess

For 1 thing; how would we tie, the ends called "Birth"; and "Death" together? And how would we "Ball" that string?
Next; that seems to suggest, Sam wouldn't "Leap" into other ppls lives; much less to become a "Quantum leap" HERO; he would actually only "Leap" into his OWN self; numerous times at different times, in his own previous years.
Or; what am I missing, to constitute him "Leaping" into OTHER ppls lives?

The theory that Sam could leap only within his own lifetime was debunked when he leaped into his own great grandfather's body during the American Civil War.
