You know as much as people like too criticize successful people (this channel is fun). Not many photography channels are this much fun. Pretty brilliant format.

I actually don't see anything wrong with 24mp whatsoever. Most pros shooting something like this have to deal with variable lighting conditions and need a camera that can focus under such conditions. The a9II is a fantastic action camera, happens to be 24mp, and the R3 is boasting a -7ev vs. the a9II's -4ev. That's a huge difference. What's really going to matter is the price. If Canon releases a 24mp pro body for $6k, sales will be garbage. If, on the other hand, they release the R3 (comparing it to the a9II) for $4-4.5k, it will sell like wildfire. I think Steven is right, this was the R1 until Sony popped up with the a1, which left Canon reeling. It comes down to price, and if Canon prices this thing high, sales will be much like the 1Dx3....crap.

My daughter woke me up and asked me to do the Jared Polin intro thing with her this early morning... so I know a new photo news fix is coming and here I am.

The opening ad is for something I might actually use! Good stuff!

Jared you’re a genius! But in all actuality, the R3 is a direct competitor to the Sony A9II, not the A1.

As the latest Instagram updates suck, I did not upgrade. The problem is that now the "default" setting seems to be set for me and I can't change that. If a friend of mine posts a bikini photo, the photo will not appear in my feed, because Instagram thinks it could "upset" me. The opposite is true. I wish I could get rid of the non-bikini photos.

24 mp is good for me - it’s a high speed sports camera! I don’t want or need 8k, I want high frame rate, great high ISO, and a Canon pro body ergonomic. It is sounding better all the time.

So basically the sensitive content control automatically socially segregates people, and Instagram doesn't care that this is bad? It stops individual thinking, and makes each side think that they are correct, without forcing each side to evaluate the other's point of view; hopefully, with an open mind.

It's like listening to a radio station that ONLY one type of music.

It's creatively unstimulating.

I don’t know why the R6 is hardly ever mentioned, but personally, I saved every penny I had and even withdrew from some investments I had to get the R6. Best decision I’ve made yet. The quality is immaculate and at 24MP, my clients are more than beyond happy with the content i give them. The R5 is overrrated. Focus on what you have folks. Yeah I have an R6 which is mostly unobtainable to a majority of beginning photographers, and know I poured my life and soul into getting one. But know this. I started my small business with a Canon T7. Your imagination is your limit. Stop at nothing. And accomplish everything🎇🎇

24mp isn't the end of the world, especially since I was shooting a 20mp 1DXII for about six years. That said, the R5 has spoiled me with the ability to crop and get multiple images out of a single capture. I am still extremely interested in this camera, but I do hope Canon understands that if it wants to come to market with this sensor resolution and specifications, it should target the A9II in price. If this camera is under $5, 000 like the A9, I won't bat an eye and will pick it up immediately. However, if it's closer to $6, 000 I may be better served by waiting for the R1 and maybe sending an R5 out for the video modifications.

Major Payne is such an underrated movie.

The fact that Peter McKinnon is skipping the R3 makes me think that the R3 will be to the R1 what the R was to the R5, just another transition model for the time being

What a disappointment, I’ve been waiting for the R3 and was expecting a high megapixel sensor, wouldn’t waste my money with 24 megapixel it does make a difference

Jared... And what if the EXIF data corresponds to an image with in-camera cropping? At 1.3X it would be a 40 Mp sensor and with a 1.6X it would be a 60 Mp sensor. Could be?

In the remote past, Canon had done the same for 1D Mk IV when it had launched it as flagship dslr for sports purposes - 16mp while the studio flagship model had higher megapixel count (and lower fps)…

You can go to home Depot for those surfaces and get them for cheaper

Not surprised. They have to leave room for a larger sensor for the R1 to come later.
