My FTZ adaptor has a tripod mounting thread on the bottom. Just fit your tripod to the adaptor. You didn't mention the rumour that the new adaptor will include a focus motor and screw drive, so you can use the old AF glass with autofocus.

I never had a problem with mounting my FTZ adaptor to a tripod.

it didnt get cancelled because people are not getting vaccinated. It was cancelled because COMPANY-imposed travel restrictions.
The company could have just not imposed restrictions and the event would happen. Regardless of who is vaccinated or not

The FTZ has a tripod receptacle on it. I put a quick-release plate on mine and I actually like how it balances heavier lens & body combos. I’ve had no problems with it.

I've seen so many complaints about the R3 price. Like it's the flagship. They've always been over $5000, I honestly expected it to be closer to $6500. If you can't understand the price you probably don't need the camera.

I'll probably get the updated FTZ adapter if I can sell the old one. The FTZ adapter with the tripod mount is annoying, especially if you have a mix of F and Z mount lenses.

I got an l-bracket for my nikon z6 and solved the ftz tripod mount problem.

The original FTZ adapter has the tripod mount because it was used for the apeture mechanism, a really different thing from the Canon EF. But yes, let's continue oversizing small issues only because Nikon doesn't lend you equipments for hands on previews anymore.

IT's funny how this channel has changed since Canon decided to finance the fund a photographer project. The project is fantastic by the way. I hope someone puts the Canon R3 agains the best from Sony for real.
