Trading first 5 minutes. If you had to trade for the first 5 minutes of the trading day, what would you trade and why? The first 5 minutes is a very tight time-window. I would probably use these sets of rules as a method of getting on the institutional money flows at the open i.e. the drive. I would wait for the first 1 minute candle to print and I would bracket the high and low for that period. I would go long if we break above the high or go short if we break below the low...OK.

I do a similar but more complex thing every day. I let the first 15 5M candles show and box them. I assume them to be either the high or low of the day. When price goes above or below the box AND adds 1 full candle in right direction I take trade. set up TP at 1% at 1.5 ATR. I usually take 1 to 3 trades a day, sometimes more. Average a little over 1% a day on FTMO account.

I like to use RSI (mostly), MFI, and MACD for confirmation. Look for the trend, triple bottom/triple top for entry points.

I sometimes trade (NASDAQ small caps) near the open. If a stock is strong pre-market, it may give a clear indication early if it is going to breakout or flush. I do not trade the first one minute candle, and prefer to look for a five minute consolidation or a flat top breakout pattern before jumping in.

Breakdown: Daily chart
45 mins chart - checking for Support or/and Residence, checking the trend, retrace, double top/bottom, 50 SMA, BB etc - simply more accurate pic compare to daily chart
checking the overnight session - marking the key levels
3 min - momentum MUST be in the direction of the trade - the main filter
1 min chart - Stochastic MUST be in the direction of the trade
I trade US 100 only, I have QQQ on too, watching the major NASDAQ stocks, prefer when QQQ opens around CH% 0.50% and develops to 1% within few mins.
Jumping in after the 1st 1 min candle is closed, stop loss 1 pip below or above the 1st 1 min candle, modifying it after every candle for few minutes, etc
