Someone told me this is a "Client Lens" You have it on the camera when you go for the photography job once they see how big it is you get the job. :)

If anyone doesn’t think modeling is a talent needs to see Elizabeth! So talented. She connects not only with you, but knows her job is to connect with anyone who will look at those images. I felt her all the way over here. I mean did you see the way she looked at me 😏😉😂

I very much agree with the lens glare in the backlit situations. The solution I came up with was to put a sunscreen diffuser around the camera front area to put the lens under the shade. It's extra equipment and extra effort but it seems to be working for me.

I'd love to see you do a lens review of this lens on an a6000 just to know how it would perform on a lesser body. Yes, crop factor and all. The problem with the fantastic glass is that it's always paired with the best cameras. Glass is always more important than a good body so this would be beneficial to those who can only afford one out of both camera and body. Thanks for this review.

Hey Manby I've watched a lot of lens reviews by different people but yours are the best! Clear, well presented, no screaming/hyped up, and plenty of great images. So thank you from Oxford in the UK 👍🏿

I keep coming back to your videos. Straight to the point honest takes without trying to sell me on equipment.

Bro, I almost spit my dentures out when a football appeared on the screen and I heard out of nowhere, “HIKE!” 😂😂😂

Update of my comment from 3 years ago ! LOL

Today (3 years later), Sigma Art lenses made me stay in the Sony alpha system !
My most used and beloved lenses are all Sigma Art... This 105mm f/1.4, the amazing 35mm f/1.2 DG DN and the 24-70 f/2.8 DG DN which is at least as good as the Sony GM, if not better !

I bought the 105mm after having seen your test 3 years ago and I'll never regret my decision !

The model looked good, and I enjoyed watching the parts with her. The photos you took of her and the video footage showing her looked really great.

105mm f/1.4
That's my dream focal length & aperture combo. The working distance is perfect all the while getting that shallow depth of field and low light. For how I shoot, a 105mm f/1.4 is more versatile than a 85mm f/1.2 & 135mm f/1.8. It has the best of both worlds. Unlike a 35mm f/1.2, which never seems to isolate the subject enough like a 50mm f/1.2 nor is it wide enough like a 24mm f/2.8. A 35mm seems more of a compromise where as a 105mm is "the sweet spot" or "best of both worlds" type of lens.

Yeah rented one this week and it is a beast. Minimum editing needed. Agreed on the focusing in backlight and low light focusing performance. I didn't run into too much of the football bokeh as you did. Awesome lense, just don't know how's it's gonna fit in my bag if I actually purchase it....lol

Hi Manny,

I finally added this lens to my arsenal, and the photos I get from it are just amazing! With my 28-70mm f/2 and 135mm f/2, I’m now selling my EF 50mm f/1.2 and 85mm f/1.2. I’m also considering getting the 200mm f/2 and maybe selling my 70-200mm f/2.8. I absolutely love the images I capture with prime lenses.

Thank you again for posting videos like this. I really appreciate the honest reviews of all the other products. Thank you so much!

Would you choose this Sigma lens over the FE:70-200/2.8 GM ? Please make a video on Sigma 105/1.4 art vs 70-200/2.8 GM
