Wearing western clothes or speaking English is not wrong. But forgetting your roots is wrong. Forgetting your traditional values/duties, feeling embarrassed while speaking Hindi or your regional language, calling saree or dhoti as 'boring' IS wrong. Even the stability of the Western society is collapsing due to unbridled lust, materialism, superiority complex and so called 'modern' thinking.

I met a Japanese boy in my last Vipassana camp. He was a student and was doing a part time job. I asked him why he came to India and how was his experience. He told me that his boss told him that if he had time, he should go to India once and do Vipassana. I asked him how was his experience and what is a Japanese's thinking about India. He said that we Japanese see India as a super power. India has a great history and has become independent after a great struggle. India has a grand and old heritage which makes India different in the world. I said that you have technology, money, still you think like this. He told me that we consider ourselves as a defeated country and we feel that whatever we are today is just a slave of America. After listening to this, we realize that our freedom struggle was really a difficult struggle and we should salute our freedom fighters that we got complete freedom because of them. Achieved. This is my own experience which I heard from a Japanese person.

This not western culture this is Indian version of western culture.

Western culture has shaped the modern world through groundbreaking advancements in science, technology, philosophy, art, and music. It champions individual freedom, democracy, and human rights while setting the standard for innovation and progress. Love it or hate it, most of what drives global development today—education, technology, entertainment, governance, and even artistic expression—has deep roots in Western ideals.

In art, the Renaissance produced legends like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, whose works like The Mona Lisa and The Sistine Chapel Ceiling remain unmatched. The Baroque period gave us Caravaggio and Rembrandt, pushing realism and drama to new heights. Modern art exploded with visionaries like Picasso and Van Gogh, redefining creativity.

Western music revolutionized sound with Beethoven and Mozart, whose symphonies still set the gold standard. The jazz movement, led by Louis Armstrong, and rock ‘n’ roll, spearheaded by Elvis Presley, transformed global music culture. Contemporary legends like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Michael Jackson redefined entertainment itself.

From the philosophical ideas of Socrates, Kant, and Nietzsche to the scientific revolutions led by Newton, Einstein, and Darwin, Western culture has dictated the course of history. Whether you admire it or criticize it, the world would look completely different without its influence.

As a genz, i don't feel like i belong to this generation. In this western obsessed era, it is very very hard to find a true long term relationship as a demisexual.

I'm a bengali from Assam, and believe me or not people appreciate me for my Hindi speaking skills, and also most of the times people don't believe that I'm a bengali just bcoz my Hindi is so good. And I believe that Hindi is my language and I carry it with a lot of pride. Jai Hind
