System Data, or Other Storage, can take up dozens of GB of your iPhone or iPad storage. Deleting all of that Data is not really obvious, but in this video I'll show you exactly that! Please make sure to give me your feedback down bellow!

This is so not practical having to factory reset my phone every other week because system data takes up 40GB out of my 64GB.. Apple needs to fix this after all this time.
EDIT: You can absolutely use the method of doing a cloud backup and then restoring to it after reset. So many who say you can't but I have done it successfully each time. I also know that Apple has made this happen intentionally, they should be required to fix it though if you ask me.

That's also a really good solution in case you're planning to get a new iphone soon. Cleaning up the system completely will make a backup for the transfer of data more trash-free.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I had 30 GB of SYSTEM DATA and my phone was constantly sending me the storage full message over the last 2 years!!!! It was driving me crazy - now it is dow to 1.96GB after following your steps. I appreciate you - FIVE STARS!

I think it’s the constant caches from logging into your phone and apps. It will just constantly grow and grow if you don’t restart or reset your phone regardless. But yea Apple should really fix this because sometimes I try to delete apps and it seems it doesn’t even help because it will just grow back to where I didn’t want it to be

I did this yesterday and gained around 8 gigs of storage on my 32-gig iPhone. Everything goes much faster if you use a password program app and install that 1st. That makes getting all your other apps up and running easier.

This is one of the reasons why I regret getting an iphone

I was gonna do this, then I backed out because I wanted to write down all my passwords. It took away most my system data without losing anything. Very happy with that

You might also try clearing the cache from your safari. My wife just did that and it wiped nearly 100gigs of system data storage off her iPhone 14 (she had been doing system back ups on her phones for the last three iPhones she owned, and never used iCloud before until she got the 14)

Another thing that helps and is much simpler ==> Update your iPhone to the latest version.
I had 60GB of System Data and now it has come to 8GB. All the best

You really gave a very clear video it was described really good because I don’t understand a lot I’m 50 and I’m not very technical. I’m going to do it now but I’m so scared I’m gonna delete everything because I’m a YouTuber and I can’t make videos at the moment

But you have to make sure you have backup all your app data such as WhatsApp. Cause WhatsApp messages might have been stuck uploading due to lack of storage at the first place.

Thank you so much for this. I have tried multiple ways for clearing the system data but each time, it keeps increasing. This one really works. Apple should fix this.
