The question is why does Korea think any kind of street food should cost over 12USD? Street food in other Asian countries is not nearly as expensive.

My husband and I were there 6 months ago, and a lot of products were overpriced and average in taste. The stores were literally selling the same thing, side by side, for the exact same price. There were more foreigners there than natives.

I AM A KOREAN. YOU'D BETTER VISIT ANOTHER MARKET. THIS MARKET IS TERRIBLE! I AM SURE THAT YOU WILL REGRET IF YOU GO THERE! THOSE ARE RIP OFF! 😂😂
I APOLIZE ON BEHALF OF ALL THE CRAPPY MERCHANTS OUT THERE...

We visited there 7 years ago. We wanted to experience food market like the locals. We are visiting Seoul in 3 months. We heard the market is mostly visited by tourists and overpriced now. We don't mind losing the locals vibes but being taken advantage of is turning me off from going back. Bad reputations will only hurt the market and the vendors in the long term. Bad news travel fast.

"If you ask for more food, I give you more" She's no different. Its sad.

The high price can be a result of high rent. Just like markets in Silom and Sathorn in Bangkok where food and merchandise are known to be more expensive than other areas. The stalls in that area even pay rent by the hours!

Vietnam is also a country that openly overcharged tourists too. I am not sure if they are still doing that, but they did afew years ago when I
visited. If you visit tourist places, there is separate price for tourists. Even though I was born in vietnam, they still can tell I am a tourist. I always asked my local family member to purchase.

Go to the department store. You can find all different kinds of korean food, including Western food.

Such significant overcharging is really bad! However, I also feel for shops which suffered heavily due to Covid and now have to cope with rising costs and thrifty consumers.

Good thing there’s upstanding people with the profession of YouTubber to take a firm stand against the elderly who sell fried market food.

I think most Asian countries do that. When a place gets popular they overchrage because it's a "tourist destination."

Looks like the Viet people are having a cultural exchange but in case of the situation of overcharging what they expect of order. Told them many times that homogenous countries like east asia are far more superior complex like in the international news. There governments in both countries had bilateral. So are the vietnamese people tourists? Just opinion.

lol that price is similar to what you would pay in the Netherlands

Bound to happen, everyone i mean everyone looking to cash in on the kpop/Hallyu craze. Ceos, rich, middle class and working class. Biggest problem korea will face from this oversaturation of this exploiting the people. It will soon become like jpop, a fad that was once cool because I am Korean and know Koreans well

The reason why the price is driven is because they want that tourist money. Of course the influencer did their job to hype that place

Hmm, I am not one try to experiment with my food. What in the world is " live octopus"? Is it alive, then they kill it to cook? Like crabs? I guess I will not be going there.
