“Boxing saves way more lives than it takes” is such a great bar.

Any type of combat sport training will generally calm a person down. When you build confidence around good people you usually lose your ego and chip on your shoulder. Usually but there's always those people who turn into bullies.

I always recommend boxing or combat sports to my friends who dont go to the gym cause "it's boring". You can practice combat sports and get in shape and don't have to spar if you don't want to.

Also, you're not "too old" to practice, just go there and have fun.

Yes! The second one! I always tell people this, especially those internet thugs who tell other people that hit the bad “oh lets see you in the ring”. That shit is so corny, you can train and NOT need to spar/fight.

Me personally I love boxing, I love hitting the bag but I have no desire to “prove myself”. Don’t get me wrong is sparring an integral part? Yes. Is it necessary to enjoy the sport or get a good workout in? NO. That doesn’t make you weak, people have different goals.

Just train, work on your technique and regardless if you spar you’re still a million times better off in a real life situation rather than having 0 training.

Obviously you folks run a very, very good and decent gym. Zero ego. Wisdom will be forged and imparted. Big love to you all.

But be cautious, theres some people who get in their feelings if you train but DONT compete. I had a former friend switch up on me cause I helped him get ready for his match but I just didnt feel like fighting in the tournament myself. He got upset and started taking shots at me and everyone else who didnt fight that day but forgets that we are all amateurs and for most, it isnt a logical career path cause we are in the army already.

Funny thing is, he stopped boxing and started to become a "DJ" instead. All that anger only for him to not even take it serious himself at the end of it all

Boxing is nicknamed "The Noble Art" as it is one of the most royal, regulated and disciplined sports, people that think it's "barbaric" don't know nothing.

Keep it up king, this is yours 👑

I can relate so much to your friend bro, I was a fat guy a year and some months ago, I’ve lost 20kg so far since I joined my boxing gym, and my confidence is in the sky, I’m in the best shape ever. 🥊 🇲🇽

This applies to most martial arts. People can start out of shape, the process will get them in shape through dedication and hard work. Martial arts of all kinds are also about control, and end up teaching people a lot of life lessons.

I just started a boxing exercise combo at a gym, and I’m 59 and dont plan to fight in the ring. It feels great and is transforming my life.

These are some of my life lessons from learning Martial Arts.

1. If you want to strike, You have to be in strike distance even where opponent can also strike you.
You must take risks to earn worth.

2. You should be either direct to hit, or indirect to hit. There is no answer, just the circumstance and timing are what decides it.

3. It’s not all about seeing, but also psychologic analysis.

4. You can either take a chance or make a chance. But be cautious about some traps.
