Life/work balance is always a challenge. I balance day job, missions work, parenting, and my freelancing with caregiving for my wife who has Multiple Sclerosis. I maintain balance by prioritizing and, like you, including my family as much as I can. I prioritize my day job and family first, then my missions work and freelancing. Even then, I include my wife and daughters as much as I can in my missions and freelancing. I have my home office off to the side of our living room so I am not away in a separate room while editing, proofreading or skyping with missionaries around the world. This allows my family to continue to interact with me while I'm working, for me to take breaks and be involved in what they are doing, and for me to assist my wife as necessary. My daughters and wife will sometimes sit with me and assist with projects I am working on as well, offering their insights into the project and learning the processes I use. I love my family, I am passionate about what I do, and I enjoy being active. I try to keep all those overlapping and working together.
