Just leave them in the mag. Does 0 damage to the spring steel. It's the compression and decompression that weakens them over time. You'll do more damage unloading it than not.

Here is a better thought. Don't empty all of them . Nothing wrong with keeping ammo in mags and should you need them to protect your home you won't have time to load them then . You will not hurt the springs in your mags .
