I SUCK at Macro Photography

It's been some time since I had a go at macro photography. I took my Olympus EM1 Mark 2 and my Olympus 60mm macro lens to the woods to see what the early spring would bring.

I have a small Etsy shop selling some of my prints:

Hands down the easiest, lightest and most comfortable macro lens ever made. Combined with the E-M1 II I took some of my best shots with that lens, it never disappointed me. Also excellent for portraits. Nice work Chris.

I just want to tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos. I am picking up a used Olympus EM 5 mk ii kit later this week. The seller has included 3 lenses, filters, a grip, extra batteries and a bag. I'm stoked because I've been watching so many of your videos. I'm a portrait photographer who has lost the joy of taking photos for enjoyment because my full frame Canons are so big and heavy. I'll keep using my 5Div for portraits and weddings, but when I go for a photo hike or do street photos I'll be taking my "new" Olympus.

Chris, the bungee cord is of course achieving you talking about it. I loved the photos! The Olympus 60mm f2.8 is one of the very few lenses still missing in my collection, but I just need more space. For space and money saving I use for the moment the very cheap Olympus MCON-P02 macro converter. It is more like a close up converter really, but it renders lovely blurrelurrely backgrounds.

One of my favorites. Gets a lot of work in Spring and summer. Glad you're having fun with it, Chris.

Some lovely shots there Chris, one or two as good as I've seen for a while anywhere. Keep up the good work man!

Nice video Chris.
Got the 60mm a few weeks ago and I can’t understand how I survived without it!
Got a diffuser for the tiny add on FLM3 for my Em5II and it’s been great.
Try some focus stacking or bracketing. I’m doing it in ON1 PhotoRaw and it’s addictive.

Chris
Was a canon shooter. Seeing you try Olympus out .I bought the small em 10 mk2 to give it a try .quiet like it .still got all my canon geat at moment .
But looking at that oem1mk2.
Your enjoying yours .and I know it all a personal choice.
I'm liking the baby em 10 .but would like to do more with it .
Would the em 1 mk 2 be a good upgrade .seems to do a lot more .just like the compactness of olympus set up .rather then all that bulky canon gear.

The 60 mm is a standard part of my kit, but I got my hands on the new 90 mm at a local photography event at the weekend. Man, that thing is a beast! Not sure I'll ever be able to justify getting one. Have you looked into in-camera focus stacking? I think the Mk II does it too.

Glad you've got the 60mm macro Chris. One of my favourite genres as it opens up a lot of opportunities in any conditions. Not used my 60mm yet, but really looking forward to watching your outings with this lens

Nice! The EM52 also seems to do a good job overall as well! Subbed.

Hello Chris! Just an question: In most of your videos (if not all) it can be heard you fire off multiple exposures when pushing the trigger. Why do you do this, what's the reason behind this? Do you bracket multiple exposures or is it just a habit? Would like to know. 🙂

I have used 4/3 system 50mm/2 and 35mm/3.5 macros a lot with adapter. They have great image quality, but focus stacking did not work.
