Why the U.S. needs an equal rights amendment to the Constitution

The Equal Right Amendment is a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would guarantee equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex. People have been pushing for something like it for almost 100 years, and organizers say there's new momentum toward ratification. Carol Jenkins, CEO of the ERA Coalition, says 94% of Americans support constitutional equality for women. "The problem is 80% of those people think we already have it, she says. "They cannot believe that in the United States, we do not have this in our Constitution."

You want pay equality? This goes to everyone- start your own business. Stop relying on other people and go get what you deserve yourself.

Women want equality of rights and privileges, not duties and obligations. For example when it comes to the military draft less than half of women are in favor or including them in a military draft.… What happened to wanting to be equal?

“Public support for such a change has divided sharply along gender lines. In a 2016 Rasmussen poll, 61% of men favored extending draft registration to everyone in the 18-to-25 age cohort, while only 38% of women supported doing so.“

We do have equal rights for all people in our Constitution. The speaker is clearly being intellectually dishonest. We have the 14th amendment. That guarantees the same rights to everyone regardless of gender, sex, religion or sexual preference.

What she wants is an amendment guaranteeing things like equal pay for women. Unfortunately for her, I stopped listening when she started claiming equal rights to everyone is not already in our constitution.

Women even have a right men do not have

Women need to stay home and the men need to be paid better... go work your ass on a farm for 14 hours if you want equal rights.

1. The ERA doesn’t specifically protect only women.
“Section 1. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.”

2. The equal pay act of 1963 makes it illegal to pay women less than a man for the same work
3. Women work less hours

How many Black American friends do you have, Carol? Who pays you, Carol? Are you married? Do you have children, Carol? This ERA amendment movement sounds like a scam in blackface, Carol.
