GY WDG3A twins, 14638 + 14579 chug merrily as it pulls a load of BCNA up the Braganza ghats and through the Dudhsagar station, banked by UBL WDG4 twins 12149 + 12125.

Enjoy the classical wheelslip of WDG4 followed by magnificent view of sanders in action.

Braganza ghats is in Madgaon - Londa section of SWR, with Ghat section starting from Collem (Kulem), Goa and terminating at Castle Rock, Karnataka.
The ghat section is famous for the the magnificent and breath taking waterfalls, so pure and white like milk, hence the name "Dudh Sagar".

All trains descending from Castle Rock to Kulem have a technical halt at this station! However only some trains have halts while ascending.
The section between Kulem and Castle rock follows two aspect Absolute block signalling, equipped with axle counters at the entry and exit of each station.

The Ghat has three stations after Kulem, i.e Sonalium, Dudhsagar and Caranzol.
Bankers are attached at the rear of the train at Kulem when it climbs up the ghats and is detached at Castle Rock.
Brakers are attached to train descending the ghats at Castle Rock and are detached at Kulem.

One has to walk on the tracks from Dudhsagar station, towards Kulem to get to the Dudhsagar falls, in which the river Mandovi plummets from a great height to the deep valley close to a stone arch railway bridge! On the way, there is a dark tunnel, which gives the trek an awesome thrill :)
Ideal time of visit would be in the month of June-July, as the falls will be in its full glory, thanks to the Southwest monsoons :)

My personal opinion is that a railfan must visit this place at least once :) Once you visit, you'll definitely promise yourself to visit again :P !

Fellow MAQ railfans Akhilesh Bhat and Titus Antony can be seen in the video!
