Nobody is consistenly wrong on realignment like Dennis Dodd

Maybe I'm a bad person, but I'm really happy that a conference is fighting for their life during conference realignment, and that it ISN'T the B12.

Just imagine if the Big 12 had not panicked and added the 4 they added earlier

Colorado is the Big 12's ex-wife who left for a richer guy, but now that guy fell on hard times, so she wants to ditch him and get back together with you!

I will preach waiting. The prospects we are talking about adding are PAC schools with a time zone problem. We are a conference on life support and we are talking about getting programs from a dead conference?

Also, acting for the sake of acting isn't always smart. Never confuse action with productivity.

Here is the thing, ESPN is driving this as they want to recoup the $3 billion they gave the SEC and the B1G, so it is entirely possible that the SEC expands by adding a couple of ACC teams within the year. At that point, go after 2 to 4 ACC teams near our new Big 12 teams. They are in time zones people actually watch. If ESPN tells the SEC to add Clemson and say FSU, we could pick up Miami and Va Tech, or UNC and NCSU, or all 4.

If/when the Big 12 makes this move they easily become the #3 conference financially, stature wise, market wise, academically as well attitude wise. But I would invite Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah as soon as possible.

The Pac-12 refused to merge with the Big XII last year, because of the religious based
universities. They also previously rejected BYU as a potential member, due to their
stance against allowing lgbtq students. I do not know how much of that was coming
from USC/UCLA, though my guess Stanford/Cal in the San Francisco area were part of it.

The Big 12 should go after all the Best Teams in the Southwest Corner of the USA, it will be 4 Conferences with 24 or a few more Teams per Conference. Big 12 will eventually be the Big 24.

Why can't Big 12 add all 6 of these schools? Why just 4?

Throw your hat, but why in heck would Oregon and Washington want to come to the big 12?

We have become equivalent to the Sunbelt Conference…

I hope there's a scenario where all of the conferences survive. We need more tournaments and championship games not less.

SEC fan here. In 2011, LSU President Michael Martin predicted there would eventually be two super conferences, Fox and ESPN. He was prophetic. Having said that, the addition of Utah, Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah guarantees the Big 12 survival and its chance at being a third super conference. The former Big 12 commissioner was a joke, who refused expansion, and nearly murdered the conference. The Big 12 is waking up. It's time. For the health of college football, waiting for this to work. Good luck.

Big 12 needs to make the move now. Don’t wait and get poached again. As a KU fan the B1G sounds interesting but I would rather stay in the Big 12 or whatever name it becomes.

I love the Arizona, ASU, Utah, Colorado idea. It makes so much sense from a football, basketball, regional, cultural perspective. Oregon and Washington seems like a pipe dream, but sure, make that call. Pod #1: BYU, Utah, ASU, Arizona; Pod #2: CU, KSt, Kansas, OSU; Pod #3: Baylor, Tech, Houston, TCU.
