This is country, this is rock, this is acoustic, this is from the heart. This is gospel, this is TRUE spirituality : non- denominational, universal, REAL. One reason I'm blessed to have seen the Dead a number of times before Jerry passed.

My favorite performance of this song. It really seems to capture the feeling the band meant it to have considering that the album was released in November of 1970

If I knew the way, I would take you home. Let's take a moment to acknowledge the brilliance of Robert Hunter, who wrote these words and most of the others the Dead sang (and who, I only learned recently, is the great-great-grandson of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns - obviously something was passed in the genes).
