Great video on the Case/Ingersoll garden tractor line. Owned a 220 for many years.
Like your explanation of the history from beginning to the end. I remember when John Ingersoll took over the product line.
He supposedly was a chief engineer with the Case garden tractor division and had a passion for the equipment. I still have the first brochure that came out when he took over. His picture was on the front of it.
I remember my dealer telling me about the transition over to Ingersoll. The dealers were supposedly happy about it because Case had a good share of the garden tractor market.
One of the things Ingersoll did was to make the sales/ marketing and service divisions all in one.
My dealer said this was a good move, as the same person was aware of new products and any technical issues of all their products. Supposedly many of these individuals did not like the concept and left the Co.
I was very fortunate to have worked directly with the rep in my area on an issue with the hi/lo adjustment lever on my 222.
He walked me right thru the fix on the phone.😄

Great video that was very well done. I live in rural Nebraska, corn country, therefore I’m familiar with the many old brands of tractors but not very familiar with garden tractors and didn’t realize Case was once a player. Hyd three point just like on the big tractors pretty awesome.

Nice tractor! Gravely has been my favorite for a long time. Mostly for the gear drive to the wheels and shaft drive to the implements. Pretty much any implement can fit on any tractor from the 60s to the 2000 when the G series was discontinued. Actually one of the best parts about the Gravely is the implements with the MA210 "snow cannon" style snowblowers being my favorite.
But to the Case, I really do like these tractors and I would like to find a nice 195 or 444 if I see one at a decent price. Thanks for explaining the difference in the hydraulic drive. I have noticed the Case was somewhat unique for having the pump right on the engine. The implements with hydraulic motors on them are pretty neat. I like the 3 point hitch option too.

Bought my case 446 because of your recommendation. They are tanks.

Thank you for this valuable information. I'm extremely new to this. I didn't even know there was a difference between a riding mower and a garden tractor. 😳

Hello Case. Just found and subbed your channel. I do own a Case 1985 446 now a
parts machine. I also have a running 1983 Black Frame 446. Have owned them for 20+ years. Just repowered the 1983. Have a bunch of case/ingersoll
attachments and love these machines.

I have 4 Cases and 4 Large Frame Bolens. I prefer the Bolens but they are 50+ years old and harder to keep running. The Bolens foot pedal control is the best. Good Luck, Rick

Tend to agree with you. Dad had low series, but I always wanted a big wheel version. Love my wheelhorse, but have to admit the case had a lot going for it. Someone mentioned bolens and gravely, even though the tractors seem around, finding attachments has been a bear here in midwest

I agree wholeheartedly I owned 2 case garden tractors in the early 90s. I owned a model 444 and a model 220 both were built like tanks. I used the 444 in my 1 1/2 acre garden. I had a plow, single row Cole planter, and a 25 gallon sprayer, used it for many years, fantastic machines. Finally needed a larger tractor so I sold them both and bought a larger 4x4 diesel tractor. The 444 is still running to this day, not sure about the 220 I never knew who ended up with it.

Ive got an old Ford horse power....32 inch mower deck that will mow cornstalks or stringy vine weeds and not flinch.. I built a front end loader and backhoe for it . Loader will lift over 1100 pounds 6 feet in the air with the bucket flat...also has quick attach bucket with pallet forks. Backhoe will dig 8 feet deep with bucket flat, dump at 8 feet high, and swivel full 180 degrees. Also has a snow blade that attaches to the loader allowing it to push snow into over 8 feet tall piles.
I have used it to make a motocross track.
Have pulled a tiller and didn't hardly know it was back there even at full depth in sod.
Made a claw to go with the forks and when cleaning a property I was lifting brush piles the size of an average size car.
Cultivators and the tiller will hook up and be used even with the backhoe on even though removing the backhoe is only 4 bolts and 2 hoses
8 that's "eight" horse power single cylinder Kohler cast iron engine.
