It's not a hack, it's a surprise software donation.

It’s not a hack, it’s a surprise shift in ownership

EA should have just put the data in a lootbox, no one would have ever found it with the odds they have ;).

Imagine your home gets broken into and the burglar goes wake you up and is like "bro you need better security wtf"

I guess these days that EA stands for Easy Access.

They should sell the data back in lootbox form. There's a chance of getting data and a 99.9% chance of getting skins of their CEO in slightly different suit colours

Are we supposed to feel bad for EA who have robbed us of countless games and dev studios?

Everyone: nope

Cyber Security guys are laughing their collective asses off because you know someone was like "Hey yall should change this and not do this because its not secure but you need to put money into to this" and some upper level Exec was like "naw it will never happen chief"

These hackers really went "Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time."

The hackers did the equivalent of walking into an army base and telling the guard they 'forgot' their uniform and ID and walked out with military secrets.

SUCH a power move when someone explains how simple things are in detail not out of their accomplishment of pride but rather your failure of being up to the standards

The only thing EA has less than respect, is intelligence

EA- A multi-billionaire company has found two things they can’t afford: Superfan likeness in Madden and a way to prevent hackers from getting in.

I don't appreciate EA's existence...but this makes me smile.

Wow so ea is cheap both in their game development *and* in their security. What a surprise.

As someone who works in technology it doesn't surprise me at all tjat it would be easy to do this. A lot of big companies will blow off security concerns or suggested improvements because those changes cost money and those problems may not ever even be an issue, and of course wouldn't have much of a roi. Perfect example is how we had literal years to prep for when Flash was shut down but the day it actually stopped being supported a bunch of web applications still failed and the same people who suggested allocating time and resources to prep had to scramble to get temporary fixes in... quick fixes that are probably going to be there for years.
