Blizzards continue to batter the UK and Europe, causing widespread disruption for a third day. Two separate storms look set to collide - Storm Emma rolling in from the Atlantic and the so-called "Beast from the East" from Siberia.

Authorities have issued another red alert - meaning a risk to life. The death toll is above 40 and the latest is a seven-year-old girl in Cornwall.

i'm from Europe. Conditions are normal. Nothing to worry about. Temperature around -11C pretty warm. Hard winters are when temperatures drop to -20C to -30C

In the UK is that they don't invest money in snow clearance machines, salt and gravel because it happens so rarely, as a consequence when it does happen it's even more disruptive. But overall it probably makes more financial sense to have a few days of disruption every 20 years than spending millions every year for something that probably won't happen.

You are betting too much on global warming and are not prepared. We have it 10 times every winter and in Calgary it lasts for 7 months! BY THE WAY another foot of snow just approaching. But temperatures just in the minus 20C
