The only reason I've not gotten into windows development is cause even microsoft can't decide which framework they prefer

"... built to be familiar to those coming from other windows application frameworks." No more XAML designer, indeed really familiar experience

It's a pain to learn because the documentation forgets to mention many basic things. Once you get the hang of it - it is a powerful framework.

This tells me so little. All I wanted to know is 1) what languages does one use to develop it? 2) does it require .NET? 3) What are it's dependencies? Is it a away to bring legacy Win32 applications into the new paradigm? Or are existing frameworks such as WPF the one's considered legacy and is this now the successor? How does MAUI fit in?

See guys, you keep making this presentations from the point of value proposition -- the reality is this: 99% of your developers will do whatever you say because you're Microsoft, if they don't, they wouldn't be in their camp. So most of us -- we just want to know what the party line is so we can tell our management which direction Microsoft wants us to go in.

I'll be honest, theres so many windows UI frameworks that its almost easier now to just make applications using game engines instead.
