I had the 1040 solar and took it back because the screen was too dim on cloudy days. Now I also wear Oakley road so that doesn't help on the solar edition. I can see the regular 1040 even with my Oakley's on. I did try the 840 but found it too small for me. It was hard to type on it when I needed to type something. I need the bigger screen to type and to see it because I'm 50 and my eyes are not that great.

840, and on the MTB mounted on the stem on not in the front (I crashed twice with my MTB and it wouldn't have survived when mounted at the front)

I got 840, but I had maybe should have gone with the 1040, I just picked the 840 for being cheaper :-)

1040 solar! I'm slow so I need all the battery life and I also have horrible eyes so I need to see the screen! 👀😅
