I follow the Domestic Geek and I make these in pint sized jars every week!. The prep work takes some time, however; I love just grabbing a salad jar out of the refrigerator and not having to cut up the veggies every time I want a salad. I add avocado, tomatoes, baked sweet potato, kale, quinoa, and other veggies and fruit. Thank you for posting this video.

Love, love, love those jars!  I am going to have to pick those up.   Your veggies looked so good Kathryn.  Your garden is doing great and the salad looked delicious!   Great video!  Hugs. Nik

I am loving the breakfast mason jar meals it helps being a full time worker with diabetes. I have not tried the salad jars yet but trying to grow my own greens so far. The domestic geek is awesome. I love her channel.

Gorgeous!  I love how filling it to the top doesn't let any oxygen in so it stays superfresh, I'm totally going to do this, dressing on the bottom! xo

I'm SO glad you've discovered The Domestic Geek! Sara Lynn is one of my all time favourite YouTub-ers! You guys should totally do a collab! She also does home decor/organizing videos and you both have similar styles. Cheers!

Ooh...fantastic. I've wanted an excuse to get those jars...I think I have finally found the right one! This would be a great way for hubby to take a healthy dinner to work. In summer, sometimes when it's hot all you want is a nice cold salad for dinner because it won't sit like a rock in your tummy making you miserable.

Hi Katherine I have been following your blogs for years, I don't understand the thumbs down - who doesn't like salad prepared in advance so you can grab it and go.  Do people just be negative for the sake of it.  Love your videos, keep up the great work

Yes I bought almost the whole stock at my $store. I even put my green drinks in them. Saves tons of time. I'm moving away from plastic to glass. Also remember u can reuse glass jars like speghetti sauce jars n wash the label off;) that's free

Okay - so I have to thank you! These are good. I saw the mason jars at the $ Tree before you did the video on it. But when I went to get them for the salads, they were gone. However, I was able to find some containers that were a little bigger (in a 3 pack). So I got two of those. I doubled the dressing & divided it among the 6 containers. Added all the veggies (omitting the bell peppers I don't like), and added a canned diced tomatoes & a can of olives. Divided everything into the 6 containers. And I did the math & they are only 4 pts each. (3 of those from the oil in the dressing). Yum!!! I had one yesterday & 2 of them today. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Kathryn!! I love your videos. I made salads in a mason jar but did not add the salad dressing in the bottom. I use cucumbers, red, yellow peppers, carrots, mushrooms, egg, chicken, spinach & butter lettuce (my fav), I bring with me the salad dressing, croutons in a container. I made about 4 for the week. I am so excited about doing that. I won't have to worry now what to take to work. Keep up the great work!! Your boys are adorable.

These are great!  I'd add corn nubbins as well, I like those in a salad.
Now, if I could just remember to eat them within 5 days or so!

Awesome idea Kathryn! Totally doing this! I would LOVE to see more "food in a jar" video! I've started a diet and I've noticed that I usually slip up when I'm super hungry and just want something to eat FAST!  Pre-made salads would be something great I could grab right away!!!!

I have done this salad in a jar, when my kids go to a home schooling co-op. Such a great ideal with the chalk lid!

I have been doing this ever since I saw AtHomeWithNikki do it, but I never thought to put the dressing in the bottom! Great idea! TFS 👏🏻

Love this so much! And the fact that you get to enjoy your garden veggies makes it even more delicious and rewarding, I'm sure!

I do the salad in a jar for my husband and I. We like ranch dressing. I put 2 Tbs in bottom of the jars, then carrots, cherry tomato's, cucumbers, cubed ham or turkey, then lettuce on top. So easy and keeps very well. I usually do 4 or 6 jars a week, and my husband takes them to work. just add what you like. Just add the hard veggies on the bottom. yummy

Awesome! I've been using this 4 piece Cool Gear brand salad container i got for $3 from ocean state job lot for salads to bring to work! The bottom and lid have freezer gel, and there's a little cup for the salad dressing that screws into the top. It's been working really well but I like this idea too - putting crunchy veggies near the dressing so it doesn't get soggy!
