The last scene where Kira was walking just looking at nothingness actually brought tears to my eyes. He was remembering the time when he first encountered the death note, it's rather left to the viewers to interpret whether Kira was thinking about how he destroyed Light (a prodigy student who wanted to help the world) or how Light became Kira (The acting God of Death).

The part where Ryuk says, "You can't be happy while having the possession of the Death Note, " actually was true- was depicted by this scene.
