Crankbaits have long been one of the best lures to catch bass. With that being said catching bass on crankbaits isn't as east as it used to be.

One thing that I love to do when I am fishing a crankbait is vary my retrieve. Sometimes this means making my crankbait stop and go. Sometimes I will snap my crankbait hard off of grass and cover, anything I can do to increase my chances of producing a reaction strike.

Crankbaits now come in models that rattle and ones that don't. In most cases I actually prefer silent crankbaits but there are 3 scenarios where I will go with the rattling crankbait.

BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

Love your videos. I've learned so much about what I never really knew as an angler basically self taught. Thanx so much and please don't stop!

Great video Two things that I like to do is #1 I use a 5.1.1 winch and I like a crankbait with no rattles I think a lot of people use too fast of a reel

Great info, this saturday i plan on going to academy and picking up pink crankbaits and pink and white baits, so i can have tackle binders with barbie pink and white baits so i can search for them then once i search for them i can figure out what depth they are on, because for God knows why pink and white work best in muddy and chocolate milk coffe cream conditions.

This has been very helpful, cause I will waist a lot time learning how to fish my crank baits. I have resonantly pick bass fishing back up after about 40 years and your videos have really taught me a lot. Thanks again,

In my experience, especially in heat of summer, you wanna really dig into the bottom, hard cracking into everything. Lightly bumping it doesnt do trick, u trying to get a reaction bite. They still hook up good cuz when its digging into rocks and bottom, Bill is down, Tail is up, tail treble grabs em.
But during spring and fall, yes, typically you wanna lightly ding the bottom.

The only Crankbait I don’t change the hook on is Spro Crankbaits. They come with really good Gamakatsu hooks. Great video!!!

Does the crankbait have to hit the bottom or the cover? My fishery is a highland reservoir, the water is extremely deep and there is no weeds, no grass, no laydown trees, ...When I fishing shallow water with crankbait especially squarebill crank bait, like KVD 1.5, megabass s crank 1.5 so on so forth, they just can't dive enough to hit the bottom. So it has been bothering me.

Very helpful video! One question on replacing treble hooks. How do you know what size to get? Availability in person at stores is sometimes slim. So do you have any tips on finding the correct replacement size when buying online?
