Airbus Beluga A300-608ST Hawarden Airport 23 Feb as #2 waited for the wind to drop enough to take off while Beluga #3 failed to land due to the strong cross wind gusting up to 34 knots!!
With more than 20 years of reliable service, the Beluga carries complete sections of Airbus aircraft from different production sites around Europe to the final assembly lines in Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany. The five-aircraft fleet of A300-600ST Belugas – operated by the Airbus Transport International (ATI) subsidiary – transports fuselage sections, wings and tails for Airbus’ single-aisle A320 and wide-body A330 families, along with parts for the A350 XWB.
ATI ensures a high level of customer satisfaction with loading, unloading, and delivery designed to be fast, safe, flexible, and reliable – as demonstrated by over two decades of successful operations throughout the world.

It appears to have the brains to figure out how to handle these winds.

can we appreciate that the cameraman had the plane flying exactly above him and never lost it out of sight?

Lovely view of Stanlow refinery in the background there. There are four of these aircraft taking off or coming in to land over my home most days. I never get tired of seeing them.

i live about a mile from that runway and ive got to say that that camera is amazing.the houses in the background are about 4 miles away .the plane known as the beluga or the guppy is designed to transport wings to other airbus factories around europe .i think there are about 5 of them planes and a new beluga xl which is even bigger.they have been in service since going to and from airbus broughton since 1995.

If i remember correctly, the reason these type of planes possess "tumor" head is because they are specifically designed to transported other plane parts like wings or fuselage, since why bother with slow trucks or trains when a plane can do that just fine

I am currently watching a documentary series called “Mega Machines” and they are showing how the Beluga operates. They’re showing this exact plane, number 2 (of 5 built).
