This was such a fun garden preservation project for us! We have been getting SO MANY PEPPERS out of our garden this year, and when we saw this idea to use our cayenne peppers we knew that we wanted to try it out. We have been waiting for 3 months now on these cayenne peppers to fully dry out to make this homemade crushed red pepper flakes. This process was so easy and satisfying! Here are the steps

1. Grow and Harvest Cayenne peppers in your garden or purchase
2. String up the peppers with a needle and sewing thread
3. Wait until the peppers are fully dried out
4. Cut the green tops off and put in food processor
5. Chop and Enjoy!

Awesome video! Can't wait to see the next crochet video that you come up with Emily 😊! I'm currently on my 2nd 10 round granny square blanket and I love it! Gave the first one to an elderly lady at church and she loved it! Now I'm making Christmas presents!

I think the mold is because you stored them next to your sink! They likely absorbed moisture. I dried cayenne peppers this year too, and mine dried down to the point of being very brittle. It looked like yours still had a little give in them, maybe the moisture? But amazing results, that’s a lot of CRP!!! 🤗
