If you mean being careful and consider all option before military action is leading from behind, sure why not..

The last time we charged in to "lead from the front" we ended up with an expensive 10 year war and no WMD to be found that we are still paying for today in the form of national debt.

The bigger question is that do we have a viable goal in Syria? If we have no goal, we are going to end up with another 10 year war. I am not fond of our soldiers dying for stupid reasons.
