About Timberborn:
Mankind turned Earth into a dry wasteland and perished, but some species adapted and evolved. Choose one of the unique beaver factions and see how long your colony can last!

Wet and dry seasons

Prepare your settlement for recurring droughts. Stockpile on food and keep fields and forests alive even after rivers dry up. Rely on both natural water sources and artificial irrigation to keep the land arable.

River control

Redirect rivers, put up dams and dig water canals with explosives – beavers of the future have millennia of experience in water engineering. But be careful, uncontrolled flooding is as deadly as a dynamite blast!

Lumberpunk

Turn timber into sophisticated machinery, buildings, and monuments. Wood is the core resource in Timberborn, but the most advanced structures require metal. To find it, send your scavengers to the ruins of the old world.

Vertical architecture

Create a thriving beaver settlement using a modular, vertical architecture system. Space is limited, so stack lodges and workshops on top of each other, cover hills with fields, and set up a power grid for your growing population.
Day and night cycle

Build a prosperous city with efficient production chains and beaverish nighttime activities. Follow the lives of individually simulated inhabitants throughout their day and celebrate when the next generation is born!
Wellbeing

Satisfy the needs of your colonists to extend their lifespan and make them happier. An evolved beaver's lifestyle is not just "work, sleep and chomp on wood". Balanced diet, decorations, temples, even carousels – you take care of it all.
Beaver societies

Control different beaver factions, each with unique style, buildings, and gameplay traits. While some beavers are expert farmers, another family might rely on rapid industrialization. Choose what fits your playstyle!

Map editor

Play on one of the included maps or create your own and share it with the community! With hills of different height, ruins scattered in the desert, and all life depending on access to water, each map poses a different challenge.
...and more!

We regularly add new features and iterate, based on the community's feedback. We’re making the world’s first beaver city-builder and we want to make it special, so stay in the loop and add Timberborn to your wishlist today!

Something you've missed in a couple of places. If you are using platforms to access the upstairs floors of buildings, you need to actually build a path on top of the platforms to connect the doors. Otherwise really enjoying the series, looking forward to huge beaver skyscrapers and massive dam projects.

Really enjoying watching the parched beavers swimming across the river at 2:05. Like, just… water water everywhere

At 24:10 you say "No consequences good or bad" for well-being. Assuming its actually implemented, the beavers should be getting all sorts of positive buffs (i.e. Social Life = Fertility) . You may need to click on the individual beavers to see it listed.

With that "high power" segment my first thought was that the storage building is the same size as the lumber/gears workshops. Storage below, production above, and with the orientation of the door offset the pathing would be easy. I'm getting town planner vibes just thinking about the shapes! This game looks like everything Factory Town had to offer with graphics and theming that I like better. I can absolutely see things like hand carts to let beavers hold more, pipes coming off a water tower, and other systems being added onto what is already a robust foundation.

I like where this game is going and as a suggestion I think at 40:42 the high power shaft might be better named the lifted shaft

Don't forget to build some hauling posts, improves beaver efficiency by quite a bit ✌🏼

Don't recall if you mentioned it in the previous EP, but you can chain water wheels. So if you want one more in the middle, you can just double up the existing one, increasing the total energy output without needing extra beachside space or shafts.

EDIT: My mistake. You know this already. Apologies.

Beavers building dams:
Natural instinct or are Beavers seeing flowing water and think 'not on my fucking watch'

This series inspired me to start a hard play on this map 👍

- there are warnings on the left side of the screen below employment stats, you may want to look at them to avoid having issues (not enough beavers, forgetting to put a path down, etc.)

You popped up in my recommended on SplatterCat’s Timberborn video, and I’m very glad you did. I enjoy your more relaxed methodical approach and the way you explain WHY you’re doing things and not just throwing stuff down Willy nilly. Keep up the good work!

If you check the helper-text on the water pumps, they can actually reach down 2 tiles height.
Be careful of the irrigation tower, it's terribly water wasteful, especially on already fertile land. When you get explosives, the Water Dump in a ditch is much more water efficient.

I realized you could double up on farmhouses and use them as planting/harvesting priority the other day and felt like a god-damn magician!

just saying if u want maximum power into the weel u can prob close half of the river and create a stronger corrent in the weel instead of rebuilding everything

Initially, I thought this was going to be a silly kid's game, but I really like the game mechanics and water physics. I hope you also try the other beaver faction.

BTW, Your voice is very soothing -- I could listen to you reading the back of a cereal box. :)

If anybody is curious about the calculation for water storage needed it is 2 x [Total Population] x [The Number of Expected Days Without Water]. So for 12 beavers in 4 days of drought you'd need 96 water stored.

HI, you can chain water wheels together, doing so adds to the power output, you can also couple windmills and water wheels on the same shaft sytem.
Irrigation towers are pretty useless due to excessive consumption, use a water dump instead and dump, into ideally a hole in the ground, but if early game a box made from levee's, will irrigate more land and last much longer.
Compact settelment work better than spread out ones, water tanks should be spread liberally throughout the settlement, beavers get thirsty while working, a thirsty beaver gets unhappy. Wellbing does matter, the higher the beavers well being, the more efficiently they work.
300 beaver map ongoing :) good luck ( ps settlement of 150 easily possible on that map)
