1:44 Cats are actually really op in the early game, you carry them in your inventory, pet them once, then let them run off back into the wild. They give a 10% movement speed buff and double your XP for 2-3 minutes, and they usually cost less than all the potions being sold. It does depend on the city though. They can even work better with the 2:08 Elemental dice, since they are affected by the dice’s XP buff.

The Kraken Fruit at 1:47:12 is probably a Buddha's Hand Fruit (Citrus medica sarcodactylis) which is in the same family as lemons (called Rutaceae) but has no juice and is often used for just the zest.
